چکیده
Background: We analyzed both early and late (persistent) phases of each cytomegalovirus (CMV) antibody in mothers with primary CMV infection during pregnancy subsequent congenital for a long period from to after delivery using our stored serum samples. Methods: used samples obtained immunoglobulin (Ig) G seroconversion infant infection. antibodies, including IgG titer, IgM avidity, were assessed the Denka assay, assay Ver.1 Ver.2, Enzygnost avidity respectively. dynamics correlations antibody, calculating Pearson’s correlation coefficients (R2). Results: 67 12 included participants between 2013 2018. increased until 61 weeks did not change significantly after. decreased 52 that assays. 64 In IgM, strong positive was found (R2 = 0.9326) two different Serum results phase (after 60 weeks) subsumed into area high low which probably equivalent persistent IgM. Primary versus Nonprimary Cytomegalovirus Infection during Pregnancy, Israel
We examined prospectively the outcome of primary and nonprimary maternal cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection during pregnancy among 88 and 120 women, respectively. The risk for vertical transmission was 1.83x higher for primary infection than for nonprimary infection. Nonetheless, congenital CMV disease was diagnosed in both infection groups at similar rates.

A primary maternal infection with cytomegalovirus (CMV) during early pregnancy accounts for the majority of congenital disease due to CMV. This is a major public health problem, and in the United States approximately 9000 children are born each year with severe disabilities caused by this placental and intrauterine infection [1]. Immunity induced by infection with wild-type CMV affords women a ...
متن کاملCytomegalovirus Hepatitis During Pregnancy
BACKGROUND Although cytomegalovirus (CMV) is an uncommon cause of viral hepatitis during pregnancy, a definitive diagnosis is important because of the potential for congenital CMV. In the case reported here, a diagnosis of hepatitis caused by CMV was made after the more common viral pathogens had been ruled out. CASE A 17-year-old, 12-week pregnant patient was evaluated for fever and right up...
متن کاملScreening for Cytomegalovirus during Pregnancy
The epidemiology and pathogenesis of CMV infections among pregnant women have been intensely studied over the last three decades. This paper highlights recent developments that make either universal or limited serologic screening for CMV during pregnancy potentially attractive. The developments include an understanding of the pathogenesis of CMV infections, a knowledge of high-risk women, the a...

BACKGROUND Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the leading infectious agent causing congenital sensorineural hearing loss and psychomotor retardation. CMV vaccine is currently unavailable and treatment options in pregnancy are limited. Susceptible pregnant women caring for children are at high risk for primary infection. CMV educational and hygienic measures have the potential to prevent primary maternal ...
